Key Insights

Sacred site exploration: Some practitioners have explored the most sacred sites in the world to learn what makes them sacred and powerful, including temples in northern Italy where underground tunnels started as meditation chambers and expanded into remarkable temples.

Sacred space experiences: Having experiences of sacred spaces fills people with wonder, awe, and inspiration, providing models for creating meaningful spaces in regenerative villages.

Energy and placement: Ancient builders placed temples in very specific sacred sites, similar to how different parts of the body have more abundant energy. Understanding these energy patterns informs design.

Spiritual council: Some projects include spiritual councils that look at things from spiritual perspectives, though implementation can be challenging.

Integrating wisdom traditions: Bringing in experts in biomimicry, ontological design, and sacred geometry, and bringing them together to see what pieces of the puzzle they hold, reveals forgotten wisdom and knowledge from ancient traditions that can be implemented with modern resources.

Spiritual dimension gap: After working with regeneration for over a decade, some practitioners find a gap where people aren't actively speaking about the spiritual dimension, even though they're all doing it. Making this explicit is important.

Sharing spirituality: People should be empowered to share their spirituality and healing openly and courageously, creating spaces where this is welcomed.

Spiritual beings: We need to collectively remember and practice that we are spiritual beings having a physical presence—this understanding informs how we design and build communities.
